Andhra Pickles Online in Guntur: Homemade Pachadi for Chilli Country
Guntur is the chilli capital of India, and nobody in Guntur needs a lecture on what a good pickle should taste like. Children here grow up with the smell of red chillies drying in the yards near the Guntur mirchi yard, and almost every grandmother has her own avakaya recipe. So why order pickles online in Guntur at all? Because the people who used to make the yearly batch are busier, smaller families live in apartments in Brodipet, Arundelpet, Lakshmipuram or Pattabhipuram, and many young professionals in the city simply have nobody at home to cut fifty mangoes in May.
If that sounds like your house, this guide will help. We will go through which Andhra pickles to order online in Guntur, what they cost today, a few easy baskets to start with, and how delivery and Cash on Delivery work.
From the Godavari Kitchen to Guntur
Pickle Basket is based in Tadepalligudem, in the West Godavari region of Andhra Pradesh. Our recipes come from the family kitchen of our founder, Vidya Rekha Kondreddi, a homemaker from Unguturu village. Guntur food is famous for heat; Godavari food is known for balance. Our pickles sit right between the two: plenty of chilli, but also generous groundnut oil, mustard and fenugreek you can taste, and garlic where the recipe calls for it.
Every jar is made in small batches and prepared fresh only after you order. Nothing is pulled out of old stock. That is why the mango pieces keep their bite and the oil keeps that deep red colour from freshly ground chilli powder.
What a Guntur Kitchen Should Order
These are the current prices on our site for each pack size. Prices can change with the season, so please check the product page before ordering.
Avakaya: the yearly jar, without the yearly work
Avakaya Pickle is raw mango with mustard, red chilli, fenugreek, garlic, ginger and asafoetida, settled in groundnut oil. It is hot, sharp and mustardy, the way Guntur likes it. Mix it into hot rice with a spoon of ghee, or have it with pappu. For that classic plate, read our post on pappu, avakaya and neyyi.
- 250 g: ₹219, 500 g: ₹429, 1 kg: ₹799
Pandu Mirchi: made for chilli country
If any city deserves a red chilli pickle, it is Guntur. Pandu Mirchi Pickle is made with fresh ripe red chillies, mustard, fenugreek, garlic and curry leaves. It is fiery and bold, and a small piece flavours a whole plate of rice. Our post on Guntur red chillies and Andhra pickles explains why the chilli matters so much.
- 250 g: ₹219, 500 g: ₹429, 1 kg: ₹799
Magaya and Koru Pachadi: gentler mango pickles
Not everyone at the table wants full heat. Magaya Pickle uses raw green mangoes with mustard, fenugreek, chilli, jaggery and tamarind, so it is softer and tangier, and elders often prefer it with curd rice. Koru Pachadi is a grated mango pickle for those who do not like big pieces. Both are ₹219 for 250 g, ₹429 for 500 g and ₹799 for 1 kg. See our guide to avakaya vs magaya if you are unsure.
Tomato, Ginger and Lemon: for idli, dosa and curd rice
Guntur breakfasts deserve a good pachadi. Ginger Pickle with pesarattu is a classic, Tomato Pickle is mild enough for children's lunch boxes, and Lemon Pickle brings sour and spicy life to a bowl of curd rice. Each is ₹219 for 250 g, ₹429 for 500 g and ₹799 for 1 kg.
Chicken, Prawn and Mutton: the non-veg shelf
Guntur loves its non-veg, and a non-veg pickle turns plain rice into a proper meal on a busy evening.
- Chicken Pickle: 250 g ₹449, 500 g ₹749, 1 kg ₹1,299
- Chicken Boneless: 250 g ₹499, 500 g ₹849, 1 kg ₹1,499
- Gongura Chicken Pickle: 250 g ₹549, 500 g ₹899, 1 kg ₹1,599
- Prawn Pickle: 250 g ₹449, 500 g ₹899, 1 kg ₹1,700
- Gongura Prawns: 250 g ₹549, 500 g ₹949, 1 kg ₹1,800
- Mutton Pickle: 250 g ₹599, 500 g ₹1,099, 1 kg ₹2,099
- Gongura Mutton Pickle: 250 g ₹699, 500 g ₹1,199, 1 kg ₹2,199
Gongura with meat or prawns is pure Andhra: the sour sorrel leaf cuts through the richness. If you are choosing between chicken with bone and boneless, our post on chicken pickle vs boneless chicken pickle helps.
You can browse everything on our veg pickles page and non-veg pickles page. Our plain veg Gongura Pickle is popular and sometimes runs out, so please check its page when you visit.

Keeping Pickles Fresh in Guntur Heat
Guntur summers are hot, so a little care keeps every jar tasting right:
- Use a clean, completely dry spoon every time.
- Keep the pickle pressed under its layer of oil.
- Close the lid tightly and keep the jar away from the stove and direct sunlight.
- Follow the storage and best-before instructions on your pack.
