Andhra Pickles Online in Hyderabad: Godavari Taste, Delivered Home

Hyderabad has always been a second home for Andhra families. Walk through Kukatpally, Ameerpet, Miyapur or Dilsukhnagar and you will hear the soft Godavari and Krishna accents everywhere. Many of us came here for studies, then a job in Madhapur or Gachibowli, then a family, and somehow we never went back. But one thing still pulls us home: the pickle jar in amma's kitchen.

Hyderabad has its own proud food traditions, and Telangana homes make wonderful pachadi of their own. This guide is for those who grew up on the coastal Andhra taste and want that exact flavour on their plate again. Let us look at which Andhra pickles to order online in Hyderabad, what a sensible first basket costs, and how delivery and Cash on Delivery work.

Why the Village Taste Is Still Hard to Find in the City

Hyderabad is a food city, and you can buy pickles in every supermarket and sweet shop. But a jar on a shelf has usually been made long before you pick it up. The mango pieces turn soft, the mustard loses its punch, and the oil no longer carries the deep red colour you remember.

Real Andhra pickle is made in small batches and mixed by hand. At Pickle Basket, our recipes come from the family kitchen of our founder, Vidya Rekha Kondreddi, a homemaker from Unguturu village. Every jar is made in Tadepalligudem, in the Godavari region of Andhra Pradesh, and it is prepared fresh only after you place your order. Nothing is pulled out of old stock.

Our Picks for a Hyderabad Kitchen

Below are the current prices on our site for each pack size. Prices can change with the season, so please check the product page before you order.

Avakaya: the jar every Andhra home needs

Avakaya Pickle is raw mango with mustard, red chilli, fenugreek, garlic and ginger, settled in groundnut oil. It is hot, sharp and mustardy. Mix it into hot rice with a spoon of ghee and you are back in your grandmother's verandah.
  • 250 g: ₹219 | 500 g: ₹429 | 1 kg: ₹799

Magaya: the other mango pickle

If you grew up on both mango pickles, add Magaya Pickle to the basket. It is made from raw green mangoes with mustard, fenugreek, chilli, jaggery and tamarind, so it has a different personality from Avakaya. Not sure which one you prefer? Our guide on Avakaya vs Magaya explains the difference.

  • 250 g: ₹219 | 500 g: ₹429 | 1 kg: ₹799

Tomato Pickle: the gentle everyday jar

Tomato Pickle is tangy and spicy, but milder than Avakaya. It goes with idli, dosa, chapati and curd rice, and children usually like it too. If your mornings in Hyderabad are a rush before the office cab arrives, this is the jar that saves breakfast.
  • 250 g: ₹219 | 500 g: ₹429 | 1 kg: ₹799

Pandu Mirchi: for those who like real heat

Pandu Mirchi Pickle is made with fresh ripe red chillies, mustard, fenugreek, garlic and curry leaves. It is fiery and bold. A little goes a long way with hot rice.
  • 250 g: ₹219 | 500 g: ₹429 | 1 kg: ₹799

Chicken Pickle and Gongura Chicken: the non-veg favourites

Chicken Pickle is the jar many working people keep for late nights. Hot rice and a spoon of kodi pachadi is a full meal when nobody has the energy to cook.
  • 250 g: ₹449 | 500 g: ₹749 | 1 kg: ₹1,299

Gongura Chicken Pickle brings together sour gongura leaves and spicy chicken, a combination that is very much an Andhra and Telangana taste.
  • 250 g: ₹549 | 500 g: ₹899 | 1 kg: ₹1,599

If you prefer no bones, try Chicken Boneless (250 g ₹499, 500 g ₹849, 1 kg ₹1,499).

Prawn and Mutton: for the special shelf

Prawn Pickle, or royyala pachadi, is the coastal Andhra jar that most people only get when someone visits from home (250 g ₹449, 500 g ₹899, 1 kg ₹1,700). Mutton Pickle is rich and spicy, best kept for Sunday lunch (250 g ₹599, 500 g ₹1,099, 1 kg ₹2,099). For a sour twist, there is also Gongura Mutton Pickle (250 g ₹699, 500 g ₹1,199, 1 kg ₹2,199).

You can see the full range on our veg pickles page and non-veg pickles page. Our plain veg Gongura Pickle is very popular, so if it shows as out of stock when you visit, please check back soon.

Three Easy Baskets to Start With

Not sure how much to order? Here are three simple baskets, worked out from the prices above. Delivery charges, if any, are shown at checkout.

  1. The bachelor flat starter: Avakaya 250 g and Chicken Pickle 250 g. Products total ₹668. One veg jar for everyday rice and one non-veg jar for the nights you do not cook.
  2. The small family basket: Avakaya 500 g, Tomato Pickle 500 g and Gongura Chicken 250 g. Products total ₹1,407. Enough for rice, breakfast and a weekend treat.
  3. The big joint-family basket: Avakaya 1 kg, Tomato Pickle 500 g and Prawn Pickle 500 g. Products total ₹2,127. For homes where the pickle jar is opened at every meal.

For a small household, a 250 g jar is easy to finish while the taste is at its best. Bigger families can go for 500 g or 1 kg.

Sending a Jar to Parents or In-Laws

Many Hyderabad families have parents living in another part of the city, or children studying in another state. You can place the order on our site with their delivery address, and the jar goes straight to them. We deliver anywhere in India, across 27,000+ pincodes, through courier partners including Delhivery and India Post. We do not ship outside India at the moment.

During festivals, a jar of homemade pickle also makes a thoughtful gift that lasts longer than a box of sweets. Our festive gifting guide has ideas on who loves which jar.

How Delivery and COD Work for Hyderabad Orders

This is exactly what our shipping policy says:

  • Your pickle is prepared fresh after you order. Orders placed before 12 PM are prepared the same day, and orders after 12 PM are prepared the next day.
  • Orders are packed and handed to our courier partners within 1 to 2 business days of order confirmation.
  • Standard delivery usually takes 3 to 6 business days from dispatch. Express delivery, where available, usually takes 2 to 4 business days from dispatch for metro and tier-1 cities. Check the options for your pincode at checkout.
  • Cash on Delivery is available with a ₹99 advance paid online to confirm the order. Our delivery partner charges a ₹50 COD fee, and you pay the balance at your door in cash or by UPI. Pay fully online by UPI or card to skip the ₹50 fee.
  • Once your order is dispatched, you get a tracking link on WhatsApp, SMS and email.

Every jar goes in a food-grade airtight bottle with an induction-sealed lid, packed in a cushioned carton made for oil and liquid transport.

Hyderabad addresses can be tricky, especially in gated communities in Kondapur or Nizampet. Please give your flat number, block or tower name, a nearby landmark and the correct six-digit pincode. The courier makes up to three delivery attempts, and clear details help them find you the first time.

Keeping Your Pickle Fresh in a Hyderabad Summer

Hyderabad summers are hot and dry, and a little care keeps the pickle tasting right:

  • Use a clean, completely dry spoon every time.
  • Keep the pickle pressed under its layer of oil.
  • Close the lid tightly and keep the jar away from the stove and direct sunlight.
  • Follow the storage and best-before instructions on the pack you receive.
